Under contract with CMHS, Magna Systems provided substantive technical assistance to states and territories regarding ways for them to make progress toward achieving their Olmstead objectives for individuals with mental health issues. The effort was aimed at reducing institutional care and providing the best independent living and client centered care possible within th community. Magna Systems provided expert technical assistance and training regarding the legal and problematic aspects of the Olmstead decision, including how it relates to the strategic plans for the state mental health system and local communities where these issues are focused. Through this contract, Magna Systems also organized the annual Olmstead Conference, bringing together representatives from all states and territories to provide technical assistance and training in implementing the Olmstead Initiative.
