William Emmet

Mr. Emmet, BA, Consultant, has over 20 years in the mental health and substance abuse field. As the former Executive Director of The Campaign for Mental Health, a coalition of 18 disparate national organizations, Mr. Emmet led the effort to secure coverage for behavioral health conditions in the Affordable Care Act. Under a contract with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, he conducted a national analysis of consumers and family members’ perceived strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of state level health care reform. He has recently become co‐chair of the Coalition for Whole Health’s State Health Care Reform Implementation Task Force. Mr. Emmet has also been a schoolteacher, journalist and freelance writer. He earned his BA degree in History from Beloit College.
